Project description
In ELAAN, an electric drive system is being developed for commercial and work vehicles, e.g. for municipal logistics, gardening and road construction, waste disposal, clearing services and city cleaning. These drives are typically characterized by a dynamic power demand during driving operation, which is to be ensured by an efficiency-optimized e-motor-inverter combination without the combustion engine commonly used today. To meet the high energy requirements of the drive system during continuous use of attachments, a zero-emission range extender is used for the battery. The design and operational management of the range extender, battery, power electronics and motor are to be optimized with simulation support for typical load profiles of commercial and work vehicles, and electrical and mechanical interfaces are to be standardized taking into account existing standards. The innovative drive system will be integrated into the drive platform of a LADOG T-1250 commercial vehicle and will be available at the end of the project for gathering experience in everyday operation.
